If you’re a serious hiker in Oregon, you’ve probably heard his name. You may have read one of his novels. His famous hand drawn maps might have guided you back to the trailhead from a distant wilderness vista. His name is William Sullivan, and no man is more synonymous with Oregon hiking trails than the fifth generation Oregonian and Eugene native.
Join Oregon Wild and William Sullivan at Davis' Restaurant in Eugene for an evening of exploration with the master of Oregon trails. Sullivan will present on his experiences hiking William Sullivanevery public trail in Oregon and reveal the recreation secrets in Oregon’s newest Wilderness areas. His most recently updated book, Atlas of Oregon Wilderness was released shortly after the March 2009 passage of the Omnibus Public Lands bill that expanded Oregon Wilderness protections by 200,000 acres.
Also presenting will be Oregon Wild Wilderness Coordinator Erik Fernandez. Fernandez will give guests an inside look at how the recent Wilderness expansion came to pass and a sneak peak at what’s next for Oregon Wilderness.
