Kim D. Nguyen - Paper or Plastic?

Kim has a passion to better our world - for today and the future. Her main goal is to eliminate waste by finding creative ways to prevent things from being dumped into our landfills, and by influencing everyone to make a difference in their own way to help keep the Earth beautiful.

Using Everyday materials instead of media like paint, pencil and canvas, Kim creates her work with used cardboard, shredded magazines, newspapers, and the notorious plastic bag. She is doing her part to help save the planet starting with what most people consider trash.

She collects all her materials from family, friends and community, helping them to recycle as well. She bonds all of these materials together using only nontoxic glue and her own energy, creating these one-of-a-kind pieces.

Kim is a firm believer in giving back, and helping out others for she knows from her own experience that we all can not make it on our own without some kind of help. Ten percent of her proceed go to charity.

We’ve included a few of her pieces here but if you would like to see more visit her website, Koopa Green Art.

  • What an amazing combination of talent, sensitivity and conservation.

I was not a rabid MJ fan ( I liked him and his ending was sad) but this piece really touched me. It feels like you are looking into his soul.

  • A very nice blog Kim.  Beautiful work…way to go!
