Blue Skies Glassworks - Michael Tonder

{title} “A quiet, contemplative sculpture with the strength and presence of a north shore water fall is the goal of my work.” ~ Michael Tonder

He works with recycled plate glass, creating one-of-a-kind glass sculptures, that are a testimony to the harmony of his work and his life.  His art reflects the many influences of his experience as a forester and park manager, and the many excursions into Minnesota’s Boundary Waters and Ontario’s Quetico Provincial Park.

Reinforcing his commitment to using natural resources Michael’s studio and showroom building is heated with a geothermal heating system. Blue Skies Glassworks, home to two artist (see Jody Tonder) also helps support a 70 acre Tree Farm to cover part of their carbon footprint.

See Below for some nice photos of his work.
