I am an Oregonian through and through. I was born in a small town outside of Salem but my liberal views and eco-friendly mentality prompted me to plant myself in Eugene, Oregon.

I’m a recent graduate of the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism. I studied to become an advertising account manager but found my true calling after taking a course on social media. At first I couldn’t believe the University would offer an entire course on Social media. I’m an experience Facebooker and Twitter fanatic and thought the basics of social media was all there was to know; but I soon learned that social media was more than creating a narcissistic MySpace page and sharing your every thought. It’s about making connections, building communities, and sharing information.

Despite my choice to study journalism in college, my true passion is working with animals. My lack of scientific background and medical training has inhibited my dream of nursing sick baby animals back to health and working to restore natural habitats, I chose the next best thing: using social media to promote land restoration, fight habitat destruction and combat global warming. While I feel that preserving habitats and creating a close bond with animals is my true calling I believe that creating awareness of ecological damage is also important. I want to encourage people to learn about habitat restoration, preserving rangelands and utilizing renewable fuels.
