I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula, surrounded by trees and water (and snow, of course). I grew up hunting, fishing and growing the food we ate.

I have been a professional journalist since just after my 20th birthday, leaving college to pursue writing. It’s paid off, having led me to a career as a writer.

I enjoy the outdoors and everything that goes with it.
